On this page: About – Vision – Mission – Our People
Bathurst Church of Christ is an autonomous congregation, having existed since 1981. Our group is small compared to many churches, with regular attendances of about 30 people, which is great for relationships and support.
We’re what’s called a ‘Bible based’ church, relying on the Bible as the Authoritative Word of God which is our guiding document, along with our constitution.
We have a Church Council which gathers together with the Elders to oversee day to day and longer term affairs.
Vision Statement
United in Christ we seek to express God’s Love:
- In joyful service to each other
- By drawing others to Christ
- And discipling in scriptural truth

Mission Statement
Believing that:
- Salvation comes as a gift through Jesus Christ alone (Acts 4:12) and that He is the head of
- the church (Collosians 1:18-20)
- God is our Father (John 10:29)
- We are empowered (Acts 1:8) and led by the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:16-24)
- All scripture is God breathed (2nd Timothy 3:16&17)
We therefore commit ourselves to:
- Following Christ’s leadership
- Loving God, being wholly devoted to Him
- Obeying His will as revealed through Scripture and by the Holy Spirit
- Fostering unity among ourselves and other believers.
We seek to express God’s love:
- In joyful service to each other by
- Loving and forgiving each other
- Encouraging each other in the faith
- Meeting together for worship, prayer and study
- Helping each other in practical acts of service
- By drawing others in the local and worldwide community to Christ by
- The lives that we lead
- The words that we speak
- Committing our time and resources to God
- Prayer
- Discipling in Scriptural truth by
- Teaching and preaching Scriptural truth
- Modelling this in our lives
- Mentoring each other.
